Coaching sessions are held at Colin Deaton Table Tennis Academy at Springwell Community College Sports Centre on Tuesdays 5.45 pm to 9.45 pm (Coaching for beginners 5.45 pm to 7.00 pm) and Fridays 6.45 pm to 9.45 pm.
The first coaching session for new participents is free.
This is an opportunity for youngsters who do not have access to coaching at the moment, but will also assist those players who need additional coaching.
All of CDTTA’s coaches have current Child Protection, First Aid and DBS certificates and the Club prides itself on the quality of coaching available from absolute beginner to International player.
Mel Buxton is Head Coach at the club. He is a Table Tennis England qualified UKCC level 2 coach as well as a Table Tennis England disability coach. His dedication to coaching and continuous success of the players that he coached led to him being awarded the ETTA National Coach of The Year 2008.
Dave Kelly is a high level league player and a qualified UKCC level 2 Coach. He has been a coach at the club for many years and is always willing to pass on his advice to help players of all ages and standards to improve their game. Dave is also an equipment specialist and can provide expert knowledge on the correct equipment available to suit your game.
